It's not goodbye, it's see you later.

I just got back from my short but well worth it trip to visit Michael. I so cannot wait to marry him, unfortunately we've got a little ways to go until we can. :( I cannot believe he started 5 months ago! It's crazy how fast this time is going by. Saying goodbye had to be the hardest goodbye we've ever done, even though it'll only be maybe 18 to 20 days before I see him again this time. It's hard knowing you are saying goodbye for only a few more days but we'll be able to spend plenty of time together in a few days. I cannot wait to spend Christmas with him. Distance really made us grow physically and emotionally. I do not know how anyone could love a person more! It's so crazy, sorry to be all mushy gooshy, but WOW! I cannot believe how amazing this relationship is. :)

9 DAYS AND A WAKE UP! WOOHOO!

The stress in my life has pretty much consumed me the last few weeks. TCU has been offering a lot of exciting things the last few weeks! We were on ESPN Game Day last saturday and we are currently ranked #4 in the BCS Polls and National Rankings! The TCU Marching Band also did an Exhibition for the State Marching Competition at the AlamoDome. I got to see my Boswell Babies, but they left after the announcements of Finals. I've just been busy doing course work, trying to improve my grades, and getting my schedule for next semester ready...I'm taking between 17 and 18 hours next semester!

Michael and I are doing great! I got a promise ring delivered to my house a few weeks ago! It's soooooo beautiful! I'll by flying out to Georgia to spend Thanksgiving with him, his grandparents, Aunt, Uncle and Cousins on Wednesday! I Cannot Wait!

Life. The Old and The New.

The transition into college has been difficult. Things change. October has been a difficult month, in my experience at least. Besides school and the stress of school, which I'm beginning to get the hang of, there have been some experiences which I feared and some which are sad.
The biggest fear of going to college was something happening to one of my parents. Thankfully for now, all is and will be okay, I just pray nothing changes too soon or everyone would like to wish that nothing will change, but we have no control over anything. In the last two weeks, my dad had a biopsy. My mom found a lump on his back and the results came back last week with skin cancer. Fortunately, the doctors think they found and got rid of it all and there will be no chemo or treatment needed. However, my dad is still a few years away from 50, and it frightens me that he's having a problem this early. But I have come to accept that it could be much worse and that he has nothing anyone needs to worry about right now.
Also in the last two weeks, I've had two music professors pass away. I never actually studied with Ms. Karen Adrian, however, I was scheduled to be a student of hers until Ms. Helen Blackburn was ordered to take over all of Ms. Adrian's students for at least the semester while she recovered from some health issues. On October 17th, Ms. Adrian fought her last battle with cancer, only having fought a little over a year. I was looking forward to studying with the Fort Worth Symphony flute Icon, but she is now sharing her music with the Lord.
Early this morning, November 1st, Ronald Shirey, the famous Choral Professor from TCU passed away as well. As I continue to look forward to singing in the TCU Concert Chorale, I enjoyed getting to know him in Choral Union as well as from the many stories from my mother and past choir teachers. He was a wonderful man and I am disappointed I will no longer have the opportunity to learn more from him throughout the rest of my college career. He has been at TCU forever, way before my mothers time. I am thankful to at least have learned a little from this man. May you rest in peace and may the music you have made live with you forever!
I hope that November will bring a new tide. A more hopeful tide to say the least. Speaking of change, I need to begin working on my schedule for next semester. Beginning of November means, beginning of advising!

OCTOBER?!

Holy Moley! It's October? You mean Michael's been gone over 3 months?! 2 more months till Christmas time?! There is no way! It does feel like October, but there is no way!! This week is almost over and I've had a lot of fun this week. Did more than just homework and found myself more productive that way. Granted, I did stay up past 1 every day this week, but it's worth it. Next weekend is fall break and plans to visit Michael are in the works. All we're waiting on his him to pass his tests and been phased up! :) I can't wait, hopefully it'll all work out!

We are almost finished with our marching show. It's not like high school where it's a cut throat task to learn drill. It's very lax, I like it a lot. I'm sitting in Reed hall waiting for my history class. We have a presentation today. I did my work so hopefully our speakers will earn us a good grade. Next week I will be a quarter of the way through my freshman year at TCU, I still can not get over the fact it is all happening so quickly.

Excuse me while I mention again how shocked I am that it's already OCTOBER! I don't understand, time has never gone by so fast! But, I guess when you're really busy and trying to distract yourself from missing the one you love, it goes by a lot faster!

Ugh History time!

Painfully Sleep Deprived

Here he is, Mr. America! It is my soldier. PVT Acosta.
BCT- Fort Jackson (July 8 - September 18, 2009)
AIT - Fort Gordon (September 23 - ???)

We have made it through the first and toughest phase!
(or so we thought, he is beginning to say.)
I'm worried about him because he's been down a lot lately, but I think it's more that he's stressed because he's training for a career he can use even outside of the Army in only 18 weeks and it's hard being able to talk to me every day but he can't see me!
It sure is nice getting to hear his voice everyday!

Not much else is going, besides my sleep deprivation due to the lack of my knack for History.

My First College Almost All-nighter

So this weekend went by way too fast and was way too busy for me to work on any homework until yesterday. I got to sleep until 12 yesterday, but then had to wake up and go get lunch and then indulge into my studies. Now that Michael is at Fort Gordon, GA for AIT (yes! he graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, SC on Friday) he has a lot more free time on his hands. By free time I mean, when he isn't being a soldier, he's being a wonderful man to me. It's great and all, but I just hope he has a little more busy time than down time. My schedule is so whacky that he distracts me from my work sometimes. It's alright, once he gets into his training classes, he's going to have math and physics homework to keep him pre-occupied on the week days. I'm extremely excited because it's looking good right now that I'll be flying in and either staying on base or close to it for Fall Break with PVT Acosta :) We keep talking about that and it makes my mind wander and daydream..Thanks a lot hon! hahaha

So enough about hopes for the clear and present future and about the crazyness I'll be going through this week. I'm not usually this big of a procrastinator..but I've found it impossible to occupy myself with assignments that have a long term due date. I've had this book since day 1, but I've been too busy reading the other shit to have time to read an important book for my Book Review. So here I am, 4 1/2 days before the Book Review is due beginning on page 1. I was fortunate enough to get through pg. 80 last night. 80 pages down and 168 more to go...not tooo tooo bad. I did stay up past 3 reading and didn't actually fall asleep until around 4:30. FML
Okay, so, I have nothing against people from Spain...but I almost ask myself this with almost every other culture speaking a different language than English...But why in the hell do people who speak different languages find it necessary to shout at one another...there were a crapload of people studying in the lobby and these two people decided to "edit this one guys essay" but they ended up pretty much talking the entire time. I could've actually finished my book a lot sooner had they not come in at 1 am and decided to look at each others facebook pictures and ask loudly who each person in the picture was. SHUT UP or go outside, do you not see there are other people in here working???? So it took me from around 8 to 3:15 to read 80 pages...I'm gonna be mad if it's like this the next two days. Hopefully my essay will not take long and I'll be able to get some decent sleep on Wednesday.

Well off to music theory. To top off the stress of this week, my roommate is sick and I'll be damned if I don't catch her cold or whatever she has, we haven't spoken this morning, she kinda kicked me out of the room while I was reading last night....

I think I learned a lesson and I think I'm going to use the Study Room on my floor, well at least maybe try it out.

You're a Procrastinator

This is by far the worst I have ever procrastinated...At one this afternoon I have a 3 page paper due in Religion. I am about half way through or so..but I'm up an hour early to wake myself up enough to finish writing it. I am addicted to Snyder's Pretzel Snaps :) Yummm!
This weekend was productive until yesterday where I put my family, Michael and his family ahead of my work and I'm paying for it now. I got a phone call from Michael finally last night, I was concerned when he called his mom over me for the first time EVERRRR, but his plan to call me after his Mom ended up failing, it is alright though, he called me earlyyyy this morning and woke me up from my sleep to tell me he loves me, what an amazing guy huh?

My roommate and I got in a fight last night because she was whining about me getting up an hour earlier than I usually do Monday mornings to work on that Religion paper, I decided it wouldn't be a good idea to stay up till two writing it and so I went to bed at my usual time (12) and got up at 6:30. I felt like a drunk this morning once I rolled out of my lofted bed and climbed down to the floor advancing to the rug in the middle of the room to pass out again. I somehow managed to put in an extra 30 minutes of sleep and now I'm almost awake enough to finish the Beast. Oh Religion, why must you be so labor intensive? I read all of Deuteronomy this weekend...I should've put the paper first, but as you can see, I'm not such a smarty pants at managing my time yet here in College.

I am officially not a Rocky Horror Picture show Virgin anymore! It was a lot of fun :) I went with my new best gal's Amanda and Natalie. Whoever thought flutes couldn't get along was wrong! Anyways I'm going to write my paper, I'm tired of arguing with my roomie about Texas because she can't accept Texas is different than California! Ughhh!

What do you mean Labor Day? I've still got tons of "LABOR" to do..

Happy Labor Day Weekend. It's been a great weekend. Sleeping in till almost 1...haha haven't done that in forever. Well the first day I needed to chill and relax from all the chaos and stress. I just couldn't fall asleep last night until 5 am so I ended up sleeping until 1 this afternoon. This weekend has been great..I'm now at the point of my holiday where I need to end the fun and start the work. So, I just started a load of laundry and after this I've got to read through Chapter 19 of Exodus for religion, pick out who I will do my critical reflection over in religion (maybe I'll save that for Tuesday), Theory homework (minor scales=so exciting...NOT), oh and then I have to do even more laundry and endure more reading in History. I've also got to find Manuscript Paper (staff paper) for all of my musical needs and a Digital Sound Recorder for Diction. The fun never ends in my world. I figured I'd update now so I can forget about it until I feel the need to update again.

Besides sleeping this weekend, I had Mexican food last night, yay Chips and Queso my weakness! :) I also saw All about Steve with Sandra Bullock. It was an awful movie! Do not see it, very very very CHEESY! On Saturday, I also went swimming with Michael's Mom, Sister, Niece and Aunt at my house! :) Friday, I went to the Boswell game and surprisingly, they almost beat the State Champion Abilene Cooper. Finally, I just got back from Swimming at Emily (my roommates) grandparents house...they live in Lake Country.

Michael is in his last few days of Basic Training and currently in FTX (Victory Forge). He's doing great! I'm so proud of him. He never fails to remind me how much he misses me and loves me :) nor do I. I Love Him So Much and I Cannot Wait to See him again, no matter how long it takes I'm waiting! :)

Well not much else to say..I'm going to go read the Bible for religion.

Peath haha :)

Please Excuse My Neglect

I've not been refusing to write on my blogger, college life is just very busy and stressful. I still need to somehow work in 2 hours of voice practice and at least an hour and half of flute practice a day into my schedule. Yes, I'm unfortunately one of those kids who as soon as classes are over, reports to their room and locks themselves in doing homework, only stepping out of hibernation for a few hours on the weekend. If you were wondering....Music is that labor intensive. I couldn't imagine if I were taking more than 2 core classes. It seems my workload has been coming out of mostly Religion and History. I think I'm getting the hang of it though.

From what I know, Michael's doing well. He's starting up a rap group with 2 guys who are going to AIT training with him. He goes to Victory Forge this week and then graduates in two weeks! He's been really busy lately so we have not heard from him in over 2 weeks, but his mom and I have both received more letters here recently. :) I'm still really upset that I can't go to his graduation.

Today, I have my first Symphonic Band rehearsal and tomorrow I have my first voice lesson with Ms. Mallette! :) We're almost finished with the opener in Marching Band!

Last weekend was FUN. I smoked Hookah for the first time! :) This weekend, Amanda, Natalie and I are going to see Rocky Horror Picture Show! I also have Meet The Frogs Scrimmage this Saturday morning, I'm really excited to go to the Boswell Football game on Friday though! :)

My first class is at 8 and I've yet to do my make up yet...hope you enjoy your week and have a nice Labor Day Holiday if I don't update before then...doubt it.

I'm really missing Michael.

Finally A Frog

So it's been quite a busy week with getting packed and ready to move in to my dorm. It's been hard because I haven't had a lot of time to think about Michael but it's worse when I am all alone because everything is quiet and the solitude makes me miss him even more. I can't wait until he's in AIT and we can talk more frequently! So my dorm looks really cute! I'll have some pics on here later this week. My roommate moves in tomorrow and I'm excited to put the finishing touches on our room! :) All of the freshman that live close to Funkytown Fort Worth went home for the night! :) I got to sleep in. Next week will be crazy busy between Band and Freshman Stuff. I have all kinds of Social Events too :) This afternoon I'm going to get fit for my uniform and then I have flute section bonding (Pizza and Movies) hopefully I'll get to know the upper classmen a little better. I heard the TCU drumline yesterday and it upset me. The last two years of HS I was almost considered a part of the drumline. All my friends and my boy were on there and now it's strange because I have no reason to run up and see them anymore. College so far has been weird, although I wouldn't really call it college yet since I haven't really started full force. I'm sure it'll be more fun once I get to know more people and there are more things to do around campus. Being at college really makes me miss Michael but I'm going to start counting down the days until I see him soon! I'll be updating this when I can, but I have to adjust to the lifestyle change first. This next week is going to be nuts..but I'll try and post once.

Practically Finished!!!

So as of today, I'm pretty much done with buying stuff for my dorm! :) Finally, I'm so excited to set up my room! I went shopping today with my roommate Emily and her Mom with my Mom as well! It was lots of fun! We went to Charleston's for lunch and then to Target, Garden Ridge and Wal-Mart! Our bathroom is gonna be ZEBRA!!! :) Then my mom, sister, her boyfriend and I went to El Paseo for dinner! :)

No word from the boyfriend in 2 weeks, except for a letter I received on Thursday that he sent probably last Friday. I'm starting to get concerned. Wishing I knew how he was doing.

Aside from that, I leave for college on Friday and I'll be 18 on Saturday!!!!

Wait

Well, it's been since Friday since I've heard something from Michael. I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard to not hate on the postal service or Fort Jackson for sending his stuff so slow. It's coming, I just need to be patient. I've been kept pretty busy at work, except for yesterday afternoon when I was to sit back in Rebecca's cubical and we talked for the last for hours. Rebecca was working on a scrapbook for her fiance and I was drawing Michael pictures for his letter :) Today I had to man the front lobby and wait for this guy to finish a ten question test for his interview while Lori and Boyd went to lunch. It took him over an hour to do which caused me to have to scarf down lunch so someone could be at the front when the 1 o'clock interview arrived in case Shane wasn't back from flying the helicopter for employees so he could work up front while I worked in the back for Rebecca and did some stuff at Jennifer's desk.

The best thing about today was, I GOT MY CAR BACK! She has a new butt! :) Back at the beginning of July I got rear ended so she went in the shop to get her ass replaced last Monday and she finally came out of the shop today! Can't wait to drive my own, little car again. I also am half way through reading my TCU Common Reading, not that it was a lot, because it's really short, but I'm working and relaxing so I'm doing it slowly. :) That's the way to roll in life.

I'm pretty tired, thinking of going to bed soon.

I think I'm going to pop by Michael's house tomorrow to catch up with his Mom, Niki, Rick and Adrian. I Love Them! This has become a once a week thing that I hope to continue even in college. I just need to keep close to his family as they're going to be in my life for a longgggggggggggg time and I feel much better updating them on how he is and getting updates from them as well. Plus, his family makes me feel at home because they're the only piece of him that I have here at home except for pictures.

My body is telling me it's time for bed, I didn't even feel like updating, but it's been two days and I felt the need to not procrastinate.

Goodnight.

2 Year Anniversary!

Wow! Michael and I started the beginning of the rest of our lives 2 years ago on August 3, 2007! I cannot believe how fast time has flown and even faster now. He's been gone for 5 weeks as of today and will begin his 5th week of training on Wednesday! It was kind of a sad anniversary not having him here, but this is our life now, but whenever I see him next he says we're having a "Emily's Birthday and Our Anniversary Extravaganza." It'll probably be more like Thanksgiving together but I'd enjoy spending it with the one I'm most thankful for which will make it even more special. Plus the gold dog tag I received from him the other day to me was an anniversary present. This day gets me excited about our future together as I know in my heart we'll always be in each other's hearts and lives forever. :) I wont bore you with my love story. hahaha although if you're bored, you're probably jealous!

So today was a monday, again. I never knew why teacher's were like "oh today is such a monday," until I actually started working. They can be quite entertaining and aggravating. I don't think I'll recall the events of the day so I won't risk throwing stress upon myself thinking about how lovely it was at work today!

This weekend was productive to say the least. I've almost completely thrown out anything I won't need once I'm married and moved out. I was thinking to myself "Emily, Will you really need this four years from now once you're married?" "Nahhhh! I don't wont to mess with that, especially if we move around a lot!"

I made myself upset Friday! I convinced myself that Michael's mom was so offended by him talking to me way more that she would actually take out the fact that her son hadn't called her and written me like a novel and a sequel on the innocent girlfriend who has no control over who the boy makes his communication to. A sigh of relief yesterday when she accepted the invitation to come swimming and bring Niki over to swim and have his mom's sister, Tammy, come over and swim with us. We talked about the boy and how all he thinks about is me and food, the kid must be so deprived. It's always comforting to share an afternoon or evening with the future in-laws. :)

I need to go finish a letter to my sweet boy! I feel like these letters are becoming a competition and I can't compete with his 36 (front and back) page letter. :)

Fantabulous Friday!

Today was awesome! I was in such a great mood all day just from hearing from Michael! It moved by so quickly today! The minute I got to work I was immediately bombarded by my HEAD BOSS to go work on ID/Access/Security Cards for the entire district. This took from 8-12 and then I was off to lunch with my dad to Fuzzy's Tacos, I ordered the wrong thing! I never order enchiladas, but it was loud in there and the lady may not have heard me correctly, oh well, it was the best chicken enchilada I've ever had and the best Mexican Rice! When I got back, I had to set up for a meeting, pick up and deliver the mail at my office and then distribute it and then deliver ID cards to the IS department. I left work shortly after to go get my TB test done for college, it wasn't that bad, kind of weird though.

I came home and had a huge novel from Michael and now I've got to go respond to it. It was so amazingly sweet.

My First Dog Tag!

Today I got my first dog tag from Michael! This was the highlight of my day! Although, it was not a real pair with his information on it, it still is amazing! It is gold and it says Private Property of a Soldier! :) The letter was amazing! Front and back it was 11 pages! :) I am still so excited that I can't even write yet!

I got a bob today! It's really stacked in the back, I just hope I can flatten out the sides more than they are right now because they do look a little poofy. My appointment for my Vial Test (allergy shots) took like 2 hours when it should've only taken 45 minutes at most, I felt horrible showing up the my hair appointment almost 30 minutes late!

Tonight my parents are picking up our brand new ECO FRIENDLY PRIUS and they're getting us Bosses Pizza for dinner! I can't wait, I'm in a Pizza Mood!

So my brain fart of the day was when I went to Taco Bell and asked for my Taco without lettuce and with Whipped Cream rather than Sour Cream! I was so embarrassed but I'll admit it was something I'm sure they laughed their asses off about. I had to move boxes at work that were half my size, that was not a lot of fun, but I did find a dolly and told Angel it'd be his first and last time he'd ever see a girl rolling one with boxes on it. I think I finally found the last of all the leaks in our brand new building, at least I hope!

I am gonna go check out the NEW PRIUS!!!

Wishy Washy Wednesday

I am convinced! The Pony Express DOES still exist. Why is it that my uncle can receive letters overseas in 10 days or less and it takes two weeks to send a letter and receive a response back from my boyfriend who is in South Carolina when he replies the day he receives it and sends the very next day? It's sad. Oh well, it makes the anticipation all the more greater, but I was really hoping it would be here today.

Great News: I'm done with my surgery Post-Op!!! Yay! If you didn't know, I had a septoplasty back in June as well as had cysts removed. This means that I'm on my own now and everything is good with my nose! :) I can breathe and I've also been sinus infection free for going on 2 months now! Hallelujah!

Today at work, this dude came to put in tile in the bathrooms and he was nice looking, but, whenever he was flirting with me, I got all standoffish and weird-ed out by it. I'm attached without a ring on my finger to my soldier, but that's a good thing because after two years together I couldn't even think about possibly wanting to be with someone but Michael.

I bought encouragement cards today and an Anniversary card today, as well as got prints of pictures of my camera to send to him. I can't wait!!! He just began his 4th week of training today which means he's in his 2nd week of white phase. We're half way through basic now!!!

I'm going to go put our 2 year anniversary card and letter together so I can hopefully have it to him by August 3!

I'm getting a Bob tomorrow!!!! :)

Too Hot Tuesday

So today started off grand! Immediately had work set out for me today and the day didn't slow down until Lori and Shaun brought me a Sonic Route 44 Dr. Pepper on their daily Happy Hour run. That was when I went back to Jennifer's cubical and read amusing facebook updates. Once that was all over the day slowed almost to what seemed like a halt around 3. I sat at my desk from 3-5:30 waiting to go to the Texas Rangers Baseball Game with my dad.

We went to the Rangers game with one of my Dad's work buddies who is a retired Colonel. I got to discuss the army with someone who was fondly familiar. :) The game was great! Elvis hit a home run and we won the game! We played the Detroit Tigers. Today over all went by pretty fast. It was nice to see Norman walking at work today. It's crazy to see someone that had pretty much tore apart their lower body into pieces back in May is now walking, someone who had an extremely high chance of possibly never being able to walk again.

Extremely good day today!

Sluggish Days

So Michael has been gone 4 weeks today, yes, it doesn't feel like it's been that long! I got a legal phone call this week rather than an "illegal" snuck phone call which I'm sure someday he'll regret because his mom said the Sergeants know everything and his battalion will all pay for it at the end of training. :( He seems to be doing great! I'm waiting on his two most recent letters so I'm checking the mailbox because I know they're on their way.

This morning I woke up with a gas pocket in my upper groin area and it was so painful I became sick. I ate breakfast and almost fainted from the light headed-ness and nausea on my living room floor. Instead, I just sprawled out and slept another 20 minutes and it went away, thankfully! :) So I get to work and find the cleaning services did a half ass job this weekend, disgusts me as usual. Incase you didn't know, one of my daily to-do list items at work is to inspect what the cleaning services did overnight. Not to mention there was NOTHING for me to do at work today except for check for non-existent leaks that didn't appear until right when I was headed out of the office. JOY!

Seeing Michael's mom today was great! It's always comforting to see her because it always brings back memories. Since he's been gone, I've visited her twice. It's funny, now she tells me some stories about Michael growing up. We get lots of laughs!!! :)
